Surah Al-An’am (in Arabic text: ٱلأنعام‎) is the 6th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “The Cattle” and it consists of 165 verses. Allah commands His servants and Messengers, peace be upon them all, to eat lawful food and do righteous deeds, which indicates that eating what is lawful helps one to do righteous deeds. Al-An'am Ayat 50. قُلْ لَّآ اَقُوْلُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِيْ خَزَاۤىِٕنُ اللّٰهِ وَلَآ اَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلَآ اَقُوْلُ لَكُمْ اِنِّيْ مَلَكٌۚ اِنْ اَتَّبِعُ اِلَّا مَا يُوْحٰٓى اِلَيَّۗ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى الْاَعْمٰى This has He instructed you that you may become righteous. Surat Al-'An`am [verses 151-153] - Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them.
